Each winter, decaying vegetation in swamps across the Eastern seaboard release plant oils and tannic acid that cause a pastel rainbow to spread out across the surface of the water. Transfixed by this phenomenon, artist Jessica Hines waded into the swamps behind her home to capture these otherworldly rainbows. We collaborated with Jessica on a series of pieces that highlight a few of our favorite images from her photo series “Spirit Stories."
